Learn How To Putt Your Best
By: The Putting GeniusYou can learn how to putt your best by maintaining proper putting stroke mechanics and technique. A good putting stroke starts with a proper and correct setup. It's important to grip the putter correctly. You should hold the putter in your palms as this will minimize any excess wrist movement in your stroke. I go into more detail on all the important fundamentals of the putting stroke in my Ebook, but here are a few helpful tips to get you started on the right track. Your hands, arms, and shoulders should all stay connected and work together. There is very little wrist movement in the putting stroke. You want to stroke through the ball and not hit at it. The ball simply gets in the way of the putterhead. Make sure the putter moves back and through the same length. The putting stroke can be compared or likened to a pendulum motion. Maintaining good tempo and rhythm will also help you get your stroke working better on the greens. Having good tempo will allow you to feel the speed better. If your tempo gets too fast or too slow, it will affect the length you hit your putts and your distance won't be consistent. Speed control is a big key to good putting so proper rhythm and tempo can help you hit your putts the right distance on the greens.
